4D & 5D Scheduling Examples

Building D becomes second in priority to complete of the buildings after Building B. The original 3D model provided by the Design Team only included the new construction. The additional buildings, canopies, and ground were added in the 4D software to provide a better representation of conditions surrounding the new construction. The original schedule was created and is maintained using Primavera P6 and the 4D schedule combines the 3D model and schedule to provide a visual display of flow and sequence of work during the construction period.

The Science building is now the priority 1 building to complete for the existing science building move in and allow for remodel to regular classrooms before project completion. The current status has the building pad and geo-piers installed with foundations starting in the new year. Other building status in the vicinity of Building B are shown with their own paths to completion. The schedule was created and maintained using Primavera P6 and the 4D schedule is maintained by synchronizing the the updated schedule in Synchro Pro. The original 3D model provided by the Design Team, only included the new buildings and not existing conditions. The existing buildings and ground were added to the model in Synchro Pro in order to establish accurate working conditions.

Revised schedule sequencing has Building A start and finish later than originally planned. The revised 4D schedule of Building A provides a better visualization of work progress expected and how it relates to other buildings that are either under construction or existing buildings not part of this project.

The original 3D model provided by the Design Team did not include the existing school buildings not part of the construction, roadways, or ground where the new buildings will be placed. The 4D model needed to create the existing buildings, surrounding roadways, as well as ground soil and athletic fields. The buildings in BLUE are modular classrooms to be used during construction. This new visual provides what the real construction will look like with truck routs as well as equipment that will be used during some of the construction activities.

A modernization project at an existing high school that includes 3 buildings remodel and 7 new buildings. The project schedule was created over 12 months prior to the start of new construction using Primavera P6 then converted to a 4D schedule from the schedule and 3D model provided by the Design Team using Synchro Pro.
